Easter-Spring Extravaganza at Magnolia-licious Highlites

Thank goodness finally some signs of spring coming!  It is wonderful to think of flowers popping up, green grass and leafy trees along with warm sunny days.

Magnolia-licious Highlites is having a fun and very exciting Easter/Spring Extravaganza challenge sponsored by Diana at Magnolia-licious!  So many of you have already entered with very gorgeous projects.  The Design Teams have worked on some projects too and we’re appropriately having a hop to go along with our theme!!!  If you came here from the artististic Maria's blog, you are hopping along in the right direction.  If you came on your own, you wouldn’t want to miss any of these creative and inspirational projects, so you’ll want to go HERE to start at the beginning.

Unbelievable prizes for this contest, so check out the details HERE!!!!

I’ve got a couple of projects and they involve the cutie Mini Maggies!!!  The first one is based on the idea of Sugar Eggs I made as a kid.  We would mix sugar and I think it was egg whites and then press into plastic egg molds.  When they were set up, we would scoop the insides out to make just a shell.  Then the fun began with making little scenes on the inside with frosting and plastic little characters. Then we would decorate the outside with more frosting and frosting flowers.  So using paper was much easier!!  I have some glittery paper for the “sugar egg” part and made my scene with Mini Maggies.

MINI #454 MAGNOLIA TREE
MINI #421 SUN

Please check with Diana on the Mini Magnolia Tree and Mini Sun.  Can you tell, I kinda like these flowers and leave....used them on my last few projects!!!  :)  Water colored with Distress Inks and used the Spellbinders ovals to cut out.  Added ribbon, rhinestones, and Stickles glitter glue for more sparkle.  Cut out a little stand because my "egg" kept falling over!!!  :)

You can find Mini Maggies HERE at Diana’s terrific store Magnolia-lious.

Another thought of spring is riding bicycles.  So I used the darling Mini Edwin riding his bike with a row of nice green  Mini Trees showing behind him.

Again water colored with Distress Inks, also used the Scor-Pal to put in some accent lines, an EK corner punch, a Stampin’ Up embossing folder, word stamp and hardware.  These mini border dies are a great addition to masculine cards!

Hope you will hop onto this challenge and join us too.  Diana is sooooo generous with her prizes for the contests!!!  Stop by her store Magnolia-licious HERE to find the Magnolia Stamps both big and small.  She has the best store with awesome service and is the sweetest lady too!!!

Next hop on over to the awesome Mindy to check out what fabulous creation she has done!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and as always so appreciate the comments left.  I love to see who is here and your comments are very encouraging!!!

Enjoy every day!
Patti Jo

Patti Jo. I adore your cards. I love cards with a peek-a-boo window and then you get a surprise when you open the card. And the card comes with its own card stand.. Cool! Terrific Edwin card too. Love the colour combo. You’re an ace with these minis now. I’m still struggling with them LOL. Need a magnifying glass…hee hee, or have to get really close and personal with them.

I never did the sugar egg thing when I was a kid. Sounds like it would have been a fun thing to do.

Hugs,
Norma
