Hugs and Hearts

That time sure flew by, can't believe it's been over a week that I put anything on my blog!!!  Got caught up in a wonderful couple days of quilting and my mind only concentrated on fabrics instead of paper.  Did you know that lots of the paper companies are even designing fabrics now???  Basic Gray and Heidi Grace for a couple of them, but imagine there are lots more.  When I saw a fabric I loved I use to think it would be so nice to have it in paper too and vice versa!  Now it can happen!!!

Anyway, here is a card we did in a Hearts Class.  Hate to call it Valentine's because the cards can be used for so many other occasions.  Used a gorgeous Reminisce paper called Christmas Swirl Red.  It is a beautiful red with lovely swirls of glitter!  Used the dahlia petals, flower, twig, stamen hearts and oak leaf punches all by Punch Bunch plus the circles Nestabilities.  Stamp was Hero Arts.

Sponged a little red ink around the petals to give some variation, but the flower was also pretty with all white petals too!  Want to make this one with some other colors like pink or purple....can you imagine it????  :)

So appreciate the wonderful comments that have been left on my other cards.  Thank you so much!!!

Chasing Tilda

Used the lovely Miss Chasing Tilda from the Chasing Butterflies collection for a swap card.  You can find a terrific selection of Magnolia stamps here.

Most of my card making has always been flowers and scenery with a few cutesy things when I was in the Penny Black stage, so it surprises me how much I enjoy these little girls.  Think it brings me back to my childhood when I loved to color and play with paper dolls.  They always say as we get older, we revert back to being a child.   Guess I'm heading there!!!

Colored Tilda with Prismacolor Pencils and the odorless mineral spirits and used the Victoria Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug, the EK Success dotted wave border punch,  Martha Stewart branch punch and twig, flower 2 and sun punches from Punch Bunch.  Added some brads, ribbons and dot sparklers for a little shine.  Also used a glaze white gel pen for accent dots on her cheeks and on the dress.  Have been collecting charms for many years and finally remembered to use one of them.

This flower punch I think is my favorite one of all the flower punches.  Think it is because you can make it into such a nice ruffly flower and buds.

So appreciate the comments!!!  Thank you!!!  It is so nice to hear from people that have stopped by!

A Little Birdie

Went to my annual retreat last weekend and enjoyed the company of stampers, scrapbookers and quilters.  Such inspiration and talent!!!  I always do a little make and take project for anyone interested and this is the one we did.  It was so fun to see the gals that had never done any of the floral punching get so excited.

Supplies:  Background is the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder, Creative Memories corner punch, Marvy scallop circle, two step bird punch by Stampin' Up!, Nankong leaf punch, MS fern, EK daisy, Punch Bunch sun and snowflake.

Love this new punch from Stampin' Up!  It punches out the bird, the wing and the the little branch with leaves.

Thanks for stopping by!!!
