Here we have another Dr. Monday MD (minis and dies) with a prescription for a fun card making project. Thought I would pull out an old style of card we use to make years ago. That old saying what's old is new again. Hmmm, does that work for us too???!!! I don't recall there was a name for this card, so I'm just calling it a curved tunnel card. It has three layers and you look through openings to see your focal point. There are more pictures later that should help to see how it is constructed.
Of course I gathered some of the wonderful dies and a mini Tilda from Diana's
Magnolia-licious online store:
MINI WW 10 NEW YEAR TILDA
DH 64 WAVE LACE BORDER DIE
DH 4 LEAF AND SWIRL DIES
DH 34 WILD STRAWBERRY AND FLOWERS DIES
DH 71 POINSETTIA DIES
MB 89 LARGE CIRCLE BURST DIE
MB 82 PRECIOUS HEARTS DIE
Just a note about the Wave Lace Border Die. When you cut with this border, you are cutting two edges at the same time. One edge will be the scallop look that I used and the other edge is a wave design that would be great to use for water. I love it when we get dual use out of a die!!! Also there are dies that have a
Daisy and also a
Butterfly hanging from the bow. Such cute accent pieces!!! You get two sizes in each set.
The card is made with a layer of Vellum on top and I've used the Large Circle Burst die for that opening. Love the look!!! The next layer I embossed with a Crafts-Too Leaves embossing folder, but any embossing designs would work great! The last layer I used the Bee Paper that I like to use for coloring with the alcohol markers. Top Layer is 4 1/4" x 6 1/2", Middle Layer is 4 1/4" x 7 1/2" and the Back Layer is 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" If you want this to fit in a Business Size Envelope, use 4" rather than 4 1/4".
The side edges are held together with a string tie/bow or a ribbon can be used. One side will not be tied when it is put into an envelope so it will lie flat. The ends are lined up together and holes are punched for the ties.
Top view with both ends tied. Hope you'll give it a try, it really is very easy!
Be sure to check out the specials Diana has at
