DooHickey Floral Wreath

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!  Now it's time to try and catch up on a few things.  I've been working on this wreath for a little while and finally finished it.   I thought the DooHickey dies are not only so pretty used as basically flat flowers, I thought they would also make some terrific 3D flowers.  The flowers are actually a pure white out of a pearlized paper, but couldn't get the photo adjusted, so they look kind of pink!

Cut out a chipboard circle about 7 1/2" across for the base and covered with a printed paper.  Used the following DooHickey dies that I got from Diana, of course, at Magnolia-licious.

#2 Peony Petals
#6 Bon Voyage Foliage
#8 Doily Flowers
#15 Poinsettias Flowers

Click on each die or click HERE to go directly to the DooHickey Die category at Magnolia-licious.

Also added some gold cording, pearl brads, gold microbeads and peel off wording and stars.  I use Ultimate or Tacky glue for the flowers and Glossy Glaze or Crystal Lacquer for the microbeads.

I'm not too keen on actually lighting candles around paper flowers, but this would look nice as a candle ring too....FOR DECORATIVE PURPOSES ONLY!!!  :)

For inquiring minds, I've made up a little chart to show which dies, how many pieces and how I cut them apart.  Add some shaping and sponge around some of the edges with ink, glue them together and you have your 3D flowers.

These dies will make some great spring flowers too, just need to do some different colors!!!  Thinking Valentines, Easter and Mother's Day!!!

Don't forget about Sunday Sensations from Magnolia-licious!!!  Click HERE to go to Jacque's blog to find out all about it and sign up!!!

Wishing everyone a healthy, safe and fun New Year!!!  Enjoy every single day!!!

Santa's Helper on a Sleigh Ride

Just had to go back to adding some flowers for this one!  Love the petal shape on these dies!  Finally used this pretty Sleigh stamp that I got from Diana a while back!  Added some DooHickey die flowers and mistletoe along with #3003 Santa's Little Helper.  Not hard to believe this cutie Tilda is out of stock right now, but check with Diana if you are interested.  Otherwise #173 Santa Edwin, #3069 Reindeer Tilda or #3058 Jolly Tilda  from the 2010 Merry Christmas Collection would also be perfect for sitting on this #527 Sleigh and are available at this time.

Used the smaller of the two dies from the DooHickey die #15 Poinsettia Flowers to make the flowers and the larger die for the leaves.  Put a drop of Crystal Lacquer in the center of the flowers and added gold microbeads.   Also used the #17 Mistletoe die along with a 1/8" circle punch for the white berries.  The flowers are red card stock sponged with a deeper red ink around the edges.  The flower leaves are sponged with blue/green ink on medium green card stock.  Sleigh and Tilda are colored with Distress Inks and accented with white glaze pen and Flowersoft.
After getting to play with the minis for a while, these Maggies seem large, but sure have fun with both sizes.  Huge selection of both sizes at the oh so kind Diana's Magnolia-licious store!
Thank you to all who have left your wonderful comments.  I've so enjoyed them and it is nice to know I'm not alone in my addictions!!

Enjoy every day!

Simple Mini Maggies

I can see I am not the only one that is hooked on these Minis!!!  Sooo cute and fun to work with aren't they???!!!  Wanted to make some simple cards to give away as gifts and are easy to mail.  Us card makers are accustomed to paying higher postage to mail our extra embellished cards, but others are not use to that!!!

On this card I used a Stampin' Up! embossing folder and cut out an opening and made a frame with Nestabilities dies.  Mini Tilda With Christmas Letters is sitting on Santa's Bench and  popped up on a circle adhered to the inside of the card so it shows through the opening on the front of the card.  She is colored with ProMarkers and added Stardreams Gel pen and Crystal Lacquer for some sparkle.  These minis are the perfect size for this kind of card!
Another simple card using the adorable minis  New Years Tilda and New Years Edwin sitting on Santa's Bench.  Santa's Bench is easily transformed to be able to use any time of year too...not just the holidays.

Used a Swirl Stamp from Inkadinkadoo, Happy Anniversary stamp from Studio G, Cuttlebug embossing folder, ProMarkers, Stardust Pen and ribbon.  My favorite little Buddy tool the Scor-Buddy was used to make the embossed frame!

The very sweet Diana has recently listed even more of these cute minis from different collections!  You just have to check them out HERE at Magnolia-licious!   She does have a deal on a bundle offer too, but hurry, I believe she said the bundles were limited!  Love it.......don't have to make decisions that way!!!  And then there are gift certificates available too!

Made nine of the next card to use for Christmas cards.  So wanted to add the mini Winter Forest to the globe, but even as insane as I am, I just couldn't bring myself to cutting them out for nine cards.  I will be looking for something to stamp them on though because yup, they are so darn cute!
Loved the full size version of Tilda With Fir, so getting the mini Tilda With Fir was inevitable!  Seems like cute and adorable just go with any of these minis!

The "snow" is cut out of white glitter paper, the base of the globe is brown cardstock and scored on the Scor-Buddy.  The acetate was cut with a Sizzix Ornament die.  Little Tilda With Fir was colored with ProMarkers and used the white and Stardust gel pens to jazz things up a little.  Season's Greetings stamp by Stampendous was stamped with Black Stazon Ink directly on the acetate.  Added a little of Martha's Bakers Twine and Punch Bunch holly leaves and 1/8" circle punch berries.

I'm finding it is hard to describe these minis with words other than cute and adorable!  Anyone have any other good descriptions????!!!

Comment about the weather here in Minnesota!  Cold and White!!!  I'm beginning to only like snow in the form of paper only!!!  And it isn't even winter yet!!!!  :)

Enjoy every day!!!

Looking Up Snowman!

Had several requests as to how I made the snowman on the card from the last post.  Here are a few pictures of the punches I used, the sizes of punches, how the pieces were trimmed and a side view to see the layers of foam tape.  This is the version of snowman that had the Rhinoplasty!!!  :)
Nestabilities could be used for the circles in place of the punches and the sizes could vary too!

Hope this is helpful for anyone wanting to make them, they are a little putzy, but fun!!!

As always thanks for stopping by and always appreciate the comments....so heart warming!!!
Enjoy the day!!!

It's Clearly Christmas!

Been very busy trying to get projects done, but find I can't post all of them yet or everyone will have seen them!!

Love the look of acetate cards, but it sure is hard to keep the fingerprints off the acetate and to  take photos, but thought I would try anyway!

This #3058 Jolly Tilda is such a cutie with her subtle expression and striped stockings!!!  Because she is sooo cute, understandably Diana at Magnolia-licious is out of her right now but does have her on re-order.  Don't dismay, there are still so many adorable Maggie stamps to choose from right now!

Recently acquired a few ProMarker pens and this was one of my first attempts.  Will need some practice and they are quite different than using the distress inks.

Additional supplies used are Nesties Label 11 Dies, Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder, EK Success Flower and Leaf, Punch Bunch Fern and Sun, Ribbon, Flowersoft, and Glaze Pen.

Also worked on another acetate card basically the same, but put a snowman on this one.  Saw some different variations of this snowman on Splitcoast Stampers.  Loved this version where it looks like we are kind of looking down on him from above!
One card done....only 11 to go!!!!
EDITED:  Well wasn't done with even one!  I kept looking at the nose and it didn't look right!  So fixed the card above, but left the pictures of the others.  Ha, they have all had a nose job since!!!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!!!
Enjoy every day!!!

Besides my internet not working for days, sorry I haven’t been around with other things, but I’ve been in another world!!! The Magnolia Mini World and I’ve been having so much fun!!! These are just so adorable and are so fun to use on many types of projects.

Our wonderful hostess Diana has chosen for the December Magnolia Highlites challenge to make some type of word frame or even a letter and decorate them with Magnolia Stamps, of course!!!  There are so many possibilities with this challenge, it was hard to decide on which one to do. I had a wood cut out of the word JOY that I had planned on using, but some of you might relate, I couldn’t find where I tucked it away!!!  I’m sure it will show up some day!!!

Now our Diana from Magnolia-licious is the distributor for the Minis here so you will need to keep watch on what she will be getting in. Colored images with Distress Inks and cut out the letters from a plaque I had out of chipboard and then added the Magnolia paper.  Decorated with some hardware, rhinestones, Stickles and white and Stardust gel pens.

Here are some closer looks at the images:

Northwoods Post and Pumpkins

Hope everyone here in the US has had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration and enjoying some time off and maybe even getting some shopping done. I'm glad we have this Holiday to remind us to think of all the things we are so grateful for. And I hope everyone in the rest of the world is having fun preparing for the next holiday season!

Been working on some fun projects and will show later, but in the meantime, here is a card I colored with distress inks. It is an old Northwoods image. It's too bad it doesn't show, but I did put Crystal Lacquer on the pumpkins and light, but the camera didn't catch that.

Thanks for checking in and be sure and check back, the Magnolia-licious design team has a great project challenge coming up on December 1st. If you like to make presents for people this is a wonderful idea for those hard to buy for people.

If you came from the awesome Janiel's blog, you are hopping along in order. If you stopped by on your own, you might want to go here to start from the beginning.

Found this cute little Christmas container that I thought the lovely Tilda With Hanging Star would look nice on. Also wanted to use the new Holly Swirl stamp too, so stamped and cut a couple of those out for the trim. These are two of the new Magnolia stamps from the 2010 Merry Christmas Collection. You can see the collection here at Diana's Magnolia-licious. Kept the flowers minimal so that this new Tilda would be the focal point.

Tilda with Fir and Amaryllis Flowers

The first reality check for winter hit last night and today here in MinneSNOWta!!! We know it's coming, but would have been nice to come on gradually. Maybe after being hit with a strong winter storm right away, we will have a nice mild and easy winter!!!! I can dream can't I????

Finally able to get on the internet to share the latest card I made with Tilda with Fir and the beautiful paper from the Merry Christmas 2010 Collection. Also used the DooHickey dies of the Poinsettia's and Swirl. All can be found HERE at Diana's Magnolia-licious! Ooops, Tilda is on re-order, so just let Diana know you are interested. There are lots of other adorable new stamps from this collection available right now though!

Loved these new Magnolia papers......they are such nice quality. This Tilda is so cute with her little pine tree and I took a little artistic license to create my own Amaryllis type flowers out of the Poinsettia dies.

Shaker Silent Night Tilda

This was another fun project that the very nice Barb Hardeman has challenged the Magnolia-licious Design Team to make for this month's Sketch Project.

The Magnolia things I used are from Diana at her wonderful store Magnolia-licious.

I've watercolored Tilda with Distress Inks, embellished with the white gel pen and stardust pen. Added acetate to a Spellbinder frame then popped up with foam tape to make the shaker part for the crystal snowflakes.

#3018 Silent Night Tilda
#00 Light Pink Chandelier Glass
Something Old, Something New Wedding Collection Paper
Gold Metallic Cardstock
Acetate
Spellbinders-Scalloped Edge Frame
Distress Inks-Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Bundled Sage, Pumice Stone, Antique Linen
Jesse James & Co. Dress It Up Crystal Snowflakes
Gold Zig Painty Pen
White Gel Pen
Stardust Pen
Ribbon
Foam Tape and Glue Dots
Just a thought that came after I had put the card together. The #645 Silent Night Background would have been ideal to stamp in the background behind Tilda in a light gold metallic ink.

You can also play along too! Check out all the Design Team projects HERE at Magnolia-licious Highlites and see what you need to do to submit your project. It is not only fun, but you can possibly win some free stamps from Magnolia-licious!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy every day!!!

Wild Honey Tilda

A quick posting here of Circus Tilda and the Carousel Horse, not the traditional colors you would think they might be, but thought these were appropriate for the fall season. Lovin' the Wild Honey color. Colored them with Distress Inks and used some papers out of my stash.

#367 CIRCUS TILDA
# 433 CAROUSEL HORSE
#703 JUST SITTIN' HERE THINKING OF YOU
Distress Inks: Tattered Rose, Wild Honey, Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge, Pumice Stone, Walnut Stain, Brushed Corduroy
Martha Stewart Hydrangea Punch
Punch Bunch Twig Punch
Cuttlebug Corner Die
Rhinestones

You can find the Magnolia Stamps HERE at Magnolia-licious. Circus Tilda is on reorder right now, so Diana will be getting her back in again soon. She is so sweet and the horse is just adorable! Added the Just Sittin' Here Thinking of You stamp because then the card can be used for many occasions.

Thanks for checking in and enjoy the day!

Pearlized DooHickeys

I based this on a wedding card I recently made, but wanted to use the awesome Magnolia DooHickey dies. Love the lacey flower, snowflake, leaves and the cute little dragonfly. With the pearlized paper and of course being all white, the photo didn't work very well with my lighting, but will have to try in natural light and see if I can make it show up better.

The pearlized paper has a little design to it too. All the dies are available from that nice Diana at Magnolia-licious. Click HERE to go to the store.

#17 Snowflake/Mistletoe
#6 Bon Voyage Foliage
#7 Old Swedish Lace
#8 Doily Flowers
#9 Dragonflies
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
Pearl

A tip when using the dies, if you have trouble with the paper sticking in the die, use a piece of wax paper between the die and paper. I've been able to leave the wax paper in the die, but if it comes out, it still helps make the paper come out easier.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the day!!!

O-Ke-Doke Tilda

I'm sure you're finding some very cute pages and yummy recipes from the Design Team gals on the Magnolia-licious Highlites We're Cookin' Blog Hop today!  If you came from the very creative Sharon Caudle's blog, you are hopping in the right direction but if you stopped here on your own, you will want to go HERE to start from the beginning.  You don't want to miss any!!!

This is one of those treats that is so hard to quit eating once you start.  Someone had called it O-ke-Doke Puffcorn and I thought that was a great name!  Thought it would be cute to go along with this darling new Tilda, her bucket of popcorn and the movie tickets from the Autumn 1010 Collection!  This was so fun to create!!!  I had found some old 35 mm film and cut a piece for the background.  Also added white Liquid Applique and puffed it up on the popcorn.  Colored Tilda and the bucket with Distress Inks and added a little bling with the red rhinestones.

You can find these adorable Magnolia images and paper at Magnolia-licious US.  Diana has a wonderful selection and fantastic service.  She also gives really nice surprises for qualifying orders and there are some really good deals too!!!

Supplies:
#338 Cherry Tilda
#460 Popcorn
#668 Twin Ticket
Magnolia Autumn Collection Papers
Distress Inks
White Liquid Applique
Rhinestones
White Acrylic Paint (edges of paper)

So what's one of your favorite recipes?  Hope you will join us for the challenge at Magnolia-licious Highlites!  Check out the details here.  I bet there are even prizes involved!!!

Speaking of prizes, also from the Autumn 1010 Collection, anyone interested in the little darling Sleeping Baby Tingla stamp?   I will send to someone that has left a comment here.  So which is your favorite new stamp from the Autumn 2010 Collection?  You can find them here?   Will do the drawing October 24th at midnight CDT.

To continue on the blog hop, you will want to pop on over here to visit Cheryl Rowley's blog.  She does awesome coloring!!!

Enjoy every day!!!

Sweet Tingla in Bunny Slippers

Now isn't she just the sweetest with her bunny slippers and little bow in her hair!  Colored her with Distress Inks.  Used a Nestabilities Label 11, Scallop Oval and two plain Oval dies to make a frame and insert.  Sponged the frame with Stampin' Up!'s Mauve Mist ink to go with the matching paper.  Used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder for the background.  Added a ribbon bow and a few flowers from Martha Stewart's Hydrangea and Frond punches.   The thinking of you stamp is from Hero Arts.  Added pearls.

You can find this little Miss at Diana's Magnolia-licious store.  This stamp is from the Autumn 2010 collection and she is #336 Tingla in Bunny Slippers.

Monday, October 18th the Magnolia-licious Design Team will be having a Blog Hop.  Hope you will check it all out and join in with us.  Details will be here at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog on Monday.

Thanks to Yvonne for the inspiration of the Nestabilities dies!

Northwoods Scenes

Colored a couple of Northwoods stamp images.  They sure have some nice ones!  Of course, I love the fall scenes so I can use all the earthy colors.

The fall leaves are just gorgeous here right now and the colors just pop in the sunlight.  Such a beautiful site and trying to enjoy them while they are here before we see these winter scenes which will come all too quickly!

Stamped the images in Versamark and embossed with black embossing powder.  Watercolored with the Distress Inks and embellished with the Stardust pen, Ranger enamel for the black faux brads, Glossy Accents to make some things shiny and a white gel pen.  Sure wish the shimmer and shine showed up better on pictures!

As always appreciate the time taken to stop by and also leaving the comments.  They mean so much and I enjoy every one of them!  Just love the connection I feel I have with all of you across the world!!!

Enjoy every day!!!

Hot Tub Babes

What a fun image to color!  Didn't even add any flowers or other things to the card.  This wonderful babes stamp is from Art Impressions.  Used the distress inks for water coloring and even though it doesn't show, used the Stardust pen for some subtle shimmer.  Also used a white gel pen, gold pen and Glossy Accents.  Decided after I took the picture to add a couple of rhinestones, one as a diamond ring and the other on a shoe.

Couldn't resist to make one of the gals sunburn!

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy every day!!!

October Wedding Card and Box

Decided to make a rose and add some lilies with the same Ice Silver paper the bride used for her wedding invitations and such.  She also used a beautiful glittered yellow paper, so I added a few filler flowers made out of that paper in the arrangement.
The Spellbinders dies make it so easy to make a card look elegant.  I've used the scalloped edge frame and embossed the center piece with the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder for both the card outside, inside and the top of the box.  Also used the Spellbinder hearts for the accent piece and the Label 3 die for the top of the box words.
Used the following Punch Bunch punches:  The pear punch for the rose, the lilium feathers punch for the lilies, the birch leaf for the rose leaves, the deco flake for the filler flowers and the McGill branch for the ferns.  The stamens in the lilies are pre-made from the craft store.
Used the Stampin' Up! slot punch on the sides of the box, so I could put the ribbon on the top part of the box so the cover can be removed without untying the ribbon.
Enjoyed making this card and it was an absolutely gorgeous day for the wedding!

Thanks for stopping by and take time to enjoy every day!!!

Birthday Card for Someone Special

Made a birthday day for a special friend!  Enjoyed getting back to some floral punch projects.

Used the Punch Bunch ovoid, daisy, rock fern punches and used a Cuttlebug leaf die.  Also the deco corner punch and Spellbinders Circle and Scallop Nestabilities.  Paper is some old K & Company paper from my stash.  Hate to think how old it is but was saving for something special!  Used a satin ribbon and added some half pearls.  Made the bow on the Bowmaker.
Hey Pam, I did post your question because others might want to know too!  Here is a picture of the ovoid petal punch.  Cute shape and you can use either the point end out or the two bump end out.  Another one to add to the collection!!!  :)

Check back tomorrow and I'll be posting a wedding card that I made.

Beautiful week end, hope you enjoy the days!
