Snow Goose Card

This time of year the Canadian Geese have been flying around here in abundance!  We don't usually see very many Snow Geese, but I think they are beautiful to see too!  The geese were inspiration to have a go at some of the fun Memory Box dies.

From the Magnolia-licious online store:
MB 182 FLYING GOOSE DIE
MB 241 BIRCH TRIO DIE
MB 114 MAGNIFICENT PINE DIE
alternative trees IO 84 FIR TREES DIES
I wanted a brown tree trunk, so here is a photo of how I trimmed off the branches.  I left a bump on the trunk to give me a little more space to glue and so I knew where to glue the green branches back on.  Thought this way also added to the dimension.  Was easy to do, but even easier would be just to use a brown marker to color the trunk.

The Snow Goose was paper pieced with some black accents, but there again a marker could be used to make it even easier.  I also used a little black chalk on the goose and birch trees for shading.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy every day!!!

Wee Angie Baby Card

"W" Wednesday is a great day to pull out those cute stamps by Sylvia Zet or other adorable stamps from Magnolia-licious!

Here are the fun things I used from Magnolia-licious:
WEE 123 ANGIE STAMP
DH 30 CLOUD AND FLAG DIES
MB 136 PARKER UPPER ALPHABET SET DIES

A substitute for the Parker Alphabet is the MB 140 TYPEWRITER UPPER ALPHABET.  They are the same size as the Parkers.  Colored the cutie with Promarkers.  The clouds were embossed with a swirl embossing folder by Cuttlebug.  I've added white gel pen and used foam tape to pop up.  Also Spellbinders oval dies.

Please join the challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog!  Find the details HERE!!!

Appreciate you stopping by!  Enjoy every day!

Chloe and Tristan Butterfly Card

Designer Papers are always nice to use, but I do tend to like embossed card stock for backgrounds too!  Our challenge at Magnolia-licious Highlights is to use no designer papers, but that's easy when we have so many other fun things to use to create our own backgrounds.

I wanted to try something different with these beautiful butterfly dies by Memory Box.  I've cut out the background Tristan Butterfly in craft and the outline of Chloe Butterfly with white and then I cut out another Chloe in the salmon color.  I used only a few of the cut out pieces of the salmon color, but ran them in a brocade cuttlebug folder first before gluing them in the butterfly frame.  Added some pearls for accents and I think it makes a striking butterfly.  I'm also thinking this might be fun to do a mosiac style or stained glass look.  Have some more experimenting to do!

You can find the butterflies and the other great dies I used at Sweet Diana's Magnolia-licious Store:
MB 126 TRISTAN BUTTERFLY DIES
MB 103 CHLOE BUTTERFLY DIES
MB 204 NOTTINGHAM BORDER DIE
DH 68 SPRAWLING FERNS DIES
DH 2 PEONY PETALS DIES
DH 22 VINTAGE FLOWERS AND LEAVES DIES
DH 34 WILD STRAWBERRY AND FLOWERS DIES

Also like the fact that both butterfly dies come with a separate die for the body/antenna.  The border die makes a nice delicate edge.  I used the salmon flower cut out from the border in the center of the flower.  Love getting "extras"!!!

Be sure to check out all the other wonderful dies and stamps at Magnolia-licious.  Great prices, special offers and grand service!!!

I hope you will join us for the challenge of No Designer Papers!  You can find all the details HERE at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog and of course that generous Diana has a wonderful prize for some lucky winner!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I so enjoy your comments!  I appreciate you taking the time to leave them!  Enjoy every day!

If you are following the blog hop, you must have seen Suzanne's adorable home decor!!!  She is sooo creative and talented!!!   If you came on your own, you will want to start at the beginning to see all the wonderful projects that the Magnolia-licious Design Team has created.  Click HERE to start at the beginning if you came on your own.

I love the earthy colors of fall, so wanted to make use of a lot of them.  Instead of using the usual leaves, I wanted to try a different die and made feathers for my wreath.

Find the dies and stamp at that awesome online Magnolia-licious:
316 AUTUMN TILDA WITH BROOM
DH 80 FEATHERS DIES
DH 12 LOVELY FENCE
This sweet Tilda is colored with Promarkers and I've also used the Bow It All to make my twine bow.  It's like having that extra hand that we need when making bows!!!  Right now Diana has the Bow It All for an introductory price HERE.
Thinking of other uses for the feathers and thought an all white wreath for Christmas and also something to do with turkeys for Thanksgiving would be fun!

You will want to continue on the blog hop to see the rest of the creative projects the Magnolia-licious Design Team has come up with!!!  Hope you will join in on the challenge too!  Head on over to Suzi's Blog and see the wonderful creative project she as made.....looks yummy and so pretty too!!!!!

Happy Birthday Guy!

Here is a CAS card for a guy!  A fun way to use the #90 Doohickey Mustache Die.....just add some eyes!  A great border die for guy cards too is the #19 Doohickey Mini Zigzag Border Die (you also get the Mini Scallop).
With a few circles and ovals, eyes can be made and depending on how they are angled affects the expression.  The paper and embossing folder are from Stampin' Up and the Happy Birthday Stamp is a very old Hero Arts.

Check out all the wonderful dies that Diana has brought in at Magnolia-licious.......WONDERFUL DIES!  Click on the brand category on the left.  My wish list is ever growing!

Working on some other ideas for the Mustache die, so stay tuned!!!
Enjoy every day!

Cute Little Treat Boxes or Ornaments

We've had some questions on how to put together the DH 94 Magnolia Doohickey Strawberry Die, so I have taken a few pictures and will give you a few tips to make them quick and easy!  Now believe me, this is the way to go!  In the past, I have made strawberry treat boxes by tracing and cutting out by hand, so using this die is a treat in itself!  I also like the size of this finished container because it is designed for just a little treat, so you can afford to make a bunch of them to hand out.  The finished size from tip to top is about 1 1/2".  They would be adorable scattered around the dinner table, arranged in a little basket or even cute hanging.  Adorable with or without candy in them!!!

Since I thought they would be cute hanging in a Christmas Tree as an ornament, I made them in a pearl finish cream paper and shiny gold metallic paper.
These are the steps:  Cut one piece of each die (berry and leaves).  From the back, cup shape the "petal" parts so they will curve nicer at the top of the berry.  Use the Best Glue Ever on the glue tab to adhere to the other side forming the berry.
Thread a cording through the "petals" from front to back and tie a knot at the top bringing all the "petals" together.
Cup the leaves from the back and put a score line down each leaf on the front.  Cup the middle from the back also.  Thread both cord ends through the center hole in the leaves and tie a bow.  That's it!!!

Here are the berries made in traditional colors!
These were so easy and fun to make!  You can find these dies along with many other great dies at Magnolia-licious!  Wonderful people there and terrific prices too!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy every day!!!

Magnolia Butterfly Card

Saw a card made with the beautiful Magnolia Doohickey Butterfly die and just had to try one!  I have many butterfly dies, but this one was so striking!!!

The following were all from Diana's Magnolia-licious online store:
DH 87 BUTTERFLY DIE
MB 165 CHERISE LABEL DIE
MB 25 AMANA CIRCLE DIE
SEA BREEZE COLLECTION PAPER PACK
The Amana Circle Die, I cut into four pieces to use in the corners.  Also used a Spellbinders label die and added pearls for embellishment.
I LOVE gadgets and Diana now has the Bow It All by Zutter in the Scor-Pal store.  I've used it to make a double bow which came out nice and even.  It is nice that is set up to do a variety of sizes from small to large and you can do single, double and more bow styles.  It does come with a pretty padded bag to hold everything and printed instructions, but there are videos on how to use it that are much easier to watch.  The link for the video is HERE.  I really liked the fact that it is on the table and I can use both hands to work with the ribbon.  This will be another tool that I will enjoy having around to make my bow making easier with great results!
Bow-it-All - Click Image to Close
Since this is a new item, you can get it now at an introductory price from Diana!

I've recently been named the Die Queen, so will be concentrating on using those on my projects!!!  Lucky me since it is my latest addiction!!!  I love how easy dies are to use and look forward to using them even more.  Magnolia-licious has a wonderful assortment to select from!

Thanks for stopping by and as always, so appreciate your comments that you take time to leave me!
Enjoy every day!!!
