Faux Leather Technique

I saw a faux leather technique and needed a swap card this week, so thought I would give it a try.  Instead of creating my own embossing lines, just used an embossing folder.  Embossed a piece of craft card stock and used the back of it, so the lines are dented in, rather than raised up.  Debossed!!!!   I really liked the coloring that Sharon Fields used, so I went with those same Stampin' Up! classic ink colors of More Mustard, Pumpkin Spice, Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip.  Sponge patches of these colors all over the card avoiding pressing in the lines.

Here is the link to the original tutorial!!!  Thanks to Sharon for sharing it!!!!  Great color combination!

Wanted to focus mainly on the technique, so didn't add much, but I've added some Stampin' Up! punch pieces and faux brads using Crystal Effects to make them shiny.  The words are a SU Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp.

We are always looking for masculine cards and this is a great technique to add to those!

It's All About Sports Blog Hop

In the land of 10,000 lakes, we certainly think fishing is one of our favorite sports!  I've been wanting to use this Tilda Gone Fishing and the pretty little Stone Pathway images for a while so thought it fit right into our theme and the season.

If you are following the "It's All About Sports Blog Hop" with the design team from Magnolia-licious Highlites and came from the very talented Suzanne Dean's blog - Scrap Bitz, you are heading in the right direction! If you stopped by on your own, you'll find the hop order and all the exciting details how you can join in on the fun at Magnolia-licious Highlites.

Of course my wonderful images plus the border and butterfly die are from Magnolia-licious!  Be sure to check out all the new items Diana has in stock besides the wonderful Magnolia things!
3000 TILDA GONE FISHING
505 STONE PATHWAY
19 MINI ZIG ZAG AND SCALLOP BORDERS DOOHICKEY DIE
27 MAGNOLIA TREE DOOHICKEY DIE - Butterfly

The mini zig zag and scallop border dies are so nice to add just a little design to the edge.  The butterfly dies that come with the magnolia tree branch are the perfect size to add to many projects.

Just had to make Tilda's galoshes a bright yellow!!!  Did you have those as a kid???  They were great for sloshing around in mud puddles!!!  The images are colored with ProMarkers and I also cut out the butterflies in white and colored those with the ProMarkers too.  Hard to see, but I've added some purple flocking to the flowers and added an organdy bow with a Hero Arts birthday wishes stamp in punched out circles.

Just a note that Diana is offering a fantastic deal on the Mini Stamp Storage Binder right now too!  I sure love how nice it is to have all my minis stored and organized in these binders.  Here's a picture of a page in the binder.  It is a great set up to use!!!!
Now be sure to continue on to awesome Angie's blog - Scrap Girl to see what wonderful project she has created!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will join in on the challenge!!!
Enjoy every day!

Special Stamp---Stamp Tilda

Had some pieces left over from another project, so decided to add #01 Stamp Tilda to it.  Oh she is sooo sweet!!!  She is a special stamp that John from the Magnolia booth gave me at CHA and I'm finally getting around to using it.  Diana at Magnolia-licious does offer this one plus there are two more special cuties now available also.  Check them out HERE.  Stamp Tilda would be a great image to use on the back of your cards with your signature!
Have also used a Cheery Lynn butterfly die and the rest of the dies, the word stamp and the embossing folders are from Stampin' Up!

Tilda has been colored with Promarkers and Touch Markers.

Thanks for stopping by!!!   Enjoy every day!!!

Tilda and the Beanstalk

Thought these two stamps would be so fun to color and they were!  I've colored them with Promarkers and Touch markers.  Kept it simple since there is so much going on with the images anyway, but did add some 3D work.  I've cut out Tilda, the feather, flowers and leaves and popped them up to get a little dimension.

Happy May Day everyone!!! The most talented Suzanne Dean as hostess for this month's project for Magnolia-licious Highlites May 1st challenge has chosen Summer Theme with Twist of Colors!  Figured my summer theme was gardening and used blue, orange and yellow for my summer colors.

These are from Diana at Magnolia-licious:
3045 BEANSTALK TILDA
456 BEANSTALK
23 ANTIQUE LACE BORDER DOOHICKEY DIE
Diana offers a special price and a store credit!!!!  She has also put these two together with a really special price in the mini size!  Be sure to check them out and all the other great products she has at her store!

Hope you will join the challenge with your own Summer Theme project!  All the details are at Magnolia-licious Highlites.

Enjoy every day!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!!
